Water & Air directly serves the petroleum retailers and wholesale distributors by ensuring compliance with environmental regulations related to the construction and operation of above and below ground storage tanks of petroleum products. Leaking underground storage tanks can contaminate soil and groundwater threatening Florida’s potable water supply and affecting public health. In 1985, the State of Florida initiated regulation regarding the assessment and cleanup of petroleum fuel leaks and spills to the environment. Since the program’s inception Water & Air has been working in the State’s Petroleum Reimbursement Program determining the source and fate of contaminants and identifying effective and practical remediation techniques. Following the sunset of the Petroleum Preapproval Program and as result of our commitment to the Petroleum Industry and our excellent track record, Water & Air successfully negotiated with the State to be one of the Agency Term Contractors (ATC) for continuing assessment and remediation under the new Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP).
